Injured finger instantly healed

I've played sports for over 15 years and have participated in everything from volleyball, to swimming, to gymnastics. But softball has always been my first priority. I played competitively throughout my adolescence, and although I was not a Christian Scientist, I attributed my successes to some benevolent, all-powerful Being who I was certain existed.

It wasn't until I was 20 that I found Christian Science. Although the days of stiff competition are behind me, I've learned a great deal about God and how my participation in sports glorifies Him. For me, the most powerful example of this occurred last summer.

In June, I joined a new softball team. We played in a coed league around the city, but I was often the only woman present. I was the starting first baseman, and really enjoyed the heightened pace of the game—a byproduct of playing in a predominantly male league. My skills allowed me to play comfortably with the team, but on one particular occasion, I was forced to recognize where my skills and ability really come from.
