To Our Readers
Connecting with the world. Meeting people of different cultures and backgrounds. Traveling in a moment to faraway places, catching a glimpse of the most interesting sites — islands of the Pacific, crowded streets of a European capital, Himalayan mountains, or beautiful mosques in Asia. And all this with the click of a mouse! This is the Internet. It is also a big market place, not unlike an Oriental bazaar with its many narrow, winding streets and its stalls full of all kinds of goods.
But more than this, the Internet is a meeting place for the minds of great thinkers from centuries past. And it provides a sampling of the thoughts of those living to day on our planet. It opens up the world, bringing people and ideas together.
Some might worry, however, that the wonders of the Internet might seem inaccessible to those who have little or no experience with this new form of communication. They might think of it as too complicated for them.
