Injured shoulder healed, learning ability improved
Words cannot express the heartfelt appreciation I have for the Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, and for the provisions she made for us, including her written works and the periodicals. I began reading Bible stories when I was a young child. Whenever a problem or a situation occurred in my life, I would turn to the Bible to see what one of the many characters would have done. I learned early to put my trust in God, just as the Bible characters did. "He shall give his angels charge over thee" was one of my favorite verses from the ninety-first Psalm. I committed the entire psalm to memory, and taught my daughters to do the same.
One of my first healings where my parents used Christian Science prayer and treatment from a practitioner was when I had fallen from a balance bar my dad had built for my sister and me in our backyard. I dislocated my shoulder and skinned my face. I remember my dad carrying me inside and my mom reassuring me of my perfection as a child of God. She read passages from the Bible and Science and Health to me. We also sang some hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal that I had learned in Sunday School. I was quickly healed and back out side playing.
