Globalization the human face, the spiritual demands
Prayer at the global level
"PROSPERITY MUST BE SHARED."
ON THE THRESHOLD of the twenty-first century, changes in the global economy — from the introduction of the euro to greater interdependence among nations—have affected workers and consumers everywhere. Theories—old and new—abound, but it is hard to determine if any of them can actually tell us where the world's markets are heading. And in the midst of all this change, many people are looking for something more reliable than theories. Citizens want to have a spiritual foundation that will give them security, no matter what twists and turns the economic cycle may be going through.
With this in mind, the editors of our sister publication, The Herald of Christian Science, published in French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese a major feature entitled "Stability, Freedom, Individuality in an age of Globalization." This feature, which will soon be reprinted in full in English, explored both the human face of globalization as well as the spiritual demands that accompany it. The Sentinel is pleased to present excerpts from their report.
