Dear Sentinel
One day I woke up and my head hurt and I couldn't swallow very well. My mom and I prayed, and we called a Christian Science practitioner. I remember him saying that I am in God's arms, and God's arms never break. He also told me to read the hymn "O gentle presence" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 207). I sat on the bed with my mom, and we read the hymn. When we read the words "peace and joy and power," I thought that meant that God knows nothing about sickness and headaches because He is allpowerful. The part about peace and joy meant that people are always having peace and joy because they live in God's kingdom. Then I wrote a poem:
Love is all around us,
And God's is always surround us.
God is always perfect;
So we are, too.
He always tells us what to do.
By the middle of the day I was feeling just fine and happy and having peace. I called the practitioner and thanked him. I was thankful for God's love and care for us.
