Prayer results in guidance and a quick healing

Fifty years of membership in The Mother Church have brought countless blessings. The most outstanding experiences have been of God's guidance and protection. One of these I will always remember. Soon after I was married, my husband and I had to move from the south of England to the north, because of his job. Neither of us was familiar with the area we were heading for. Our greatest concerns were having enough money and diligently to understand that God supplies all our needs. We arrived at our destination on a Thursday afternoon and put up in a hotel. On Friday my husband's new employer invited us to stay with him and his wife for a few days and nights, as they just happened to have one room free.

We gratefully accepted this offer. On Saturday we contacted an estate agent, who handed us a brochure of properties for sale. On the last page we found a cottage which, perhaps, we could just about afford. It was two hundred years old, so we could not get a mortgage. We viewed it and liked it. On Monday we saw the estate agent again, and I said very timidly that we could pay two thirds of the price in cash but not the other third. He assured us that this was all right, as the cottage was his property and he was able to give us a personal loan. Three weeks later we moved in.

Within two hours I was completely healed.

A more recent healing took place as follows: I suddenly suffered from an internal disorder, which frightened me very much. I immediately contacted a Christian Science practitioner, who reminded me that man's life is God, not blood, and that matter could not make any conditions for me.

I was also referred to a passage from Science and Health that states: "Adhesion, cohesion, and attraction are properties of Mind. They belong to divine Principle, and support the equipoise of that thought-force, which launched the earth in its orbit and said to the proud wave, 'Thus far and no farther'" (p. 124). To me that means that "adhesion, cohesion, and attraction" hold every aspect of my being in perfect position and maintain perfect form and function. The practitioner also mentioned that God, infinite good, is omniaction, therefore His expression, man, always reflects harmonious movement.

Within two hours I was completely healed.

My joy and gratitude for having known Christian Science nearly all my life are boundless.
