Man's built-in purity—a basis for healing
A Young mother, speaking with two friends, confided her deep distress with recurring migraine headaches. When she had consulted a medical doctor a number of times in the past, she had been told to eliminate various items of food from her diet. This she scrupulously did, but to no avail.
Now she poured her heart out to these friends, and they responded by assuring her of what they understood of the Science of Christianity—that God loved her and that she was not guilty. Through this simple truth and loving encouragement, she was fully healed. In a letter to them, she told them that the healing has been permanent: "I have not had one migraine since I spoke to you both and have discarded my pills. I also feel I have more quality time with my two children and they seem much happier."
What power there is in the fact of our inherent purity and innocence! The purity of God's child is as changeless as the purity of divine Love. For us to feel and accept this truth even in a small measure brings to light Love's ever-present power, which heals.
