Immunity: spiritual and scientific
Statistics , statistics, statistics. Newscasters rattle them off as they tell us what percent of the population is expected to come down with flu, measles, or something else.
Medical research says that the body has a formidable mechanism for self-defense. Yet, studies of the immune system show that certain diseases or other conditions can weaken its defenses and leave people vulnerable to illness, including some very serious ones. So does that mean illness is inevitable?
Not really. There is another immunity—one that cannot be penetrated by any disease. It is constituted of and regulated by the unvarying laws of God, of Life, Truth, and Love. This immune system is animated by Spirit, not matter, it is 100 percent effective, and it does not break down. It springs from the fact that God includes all good but excludes all evil. God, divine Life, is the source of all being, and excludes from man's being all discord, disease, and dysfunction.
