One day when I woke up to go to school I felt awful
One day when I woke up to go to school I felt awful. I seemed to be very hot and my stomach hurt. My mom came in my room and read a children's article from a Sentinel.* The article talked about a burning furnace. Then she read the story in the Bible about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace. We talked about why Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were safe, because they trusted God to protect them. Then I knew that I couldn't feel like I was in a fiery furnace, because God protects me, too. By lunchtime, I was all better.

God protects me, too, By lunchtime, I was all better.
I am Kelly's mother. She is in third grade and wanted to share her healing. I suggested she write for the Sentinel.
Our study that day included some discussion of the fourth figure who appeared in the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The Bible says, "... the form of the fourth is like the Son of God" (Dan. 3:25). It was very helpful for me to realize that, as we are all children of God, Kelly's "form," or appearance, was also under God's protection—untouched and safe. Her freedom from fever and stomachache came very quickly, and did not return.
