I would like to share my joy for a wonderful healing of fear that I had in 1993. This was during the eighth month of my third pregnancy, and the baby was not in the desired position.
At first I was not especially worried; my first two children had been born easily, at home, before I was introduced to Christian Science. The midwives who had assisted me then were working with me again, and they were adept at a manual procedure for turning a baby to the correct birth position. I assumed that, if it was necessary, a midwife could turn the baby.
So I felt safe—that is, until a friend's experience shattered my confidence in this material remedy. When she was giving birth, an attempt to turn her breech baby had resulted in an internal injury, necessitating an emergency Caesarean section. I heard all the details, and was seized with panic.
