My parents came to Christian Science when I was still a child...
My parents came to Christian Science when I was still a child, after receiving a copy of The Christian Science Journal. After my mother read the Journal, she said Christian Science was what they had always been looking for. Although I was young at the time, I knew there was a lot of good contained in that Journal, from the things I heard Mum and Dad talk about.
My husband passed on when the youngest of our five children was only two and a half years old. In addition to caring for the family, I worked part time. To keep myself going, I constantly took headache powders. I also smoked. I know my dad was praying for me, and gradually I took less medication. Quite suddenly the smoking dropped away, as I lost my desire for it.
When I started to attend the Christian Science Church regularly and to study the Bible Lessons, I felt great peace and harmony. I became a member of our local Christian Science Church, and later a member of The Mother Church. From that time my health improved greatly. Since then I have had many other physical healings through the years, including freedom from annual bouts with the flu.
