The spiritual dynamics of moving

By its very nature, life is never static. Yet when we find that we need to move, for whatever reason, we are often faced with special challenges: fear of the unknown; resistance to change; concern over losing existing good; having to adapt to new circumstances; locating and financing a new home while disposing of one's old residence.

Prayer helps us meet these challenges. Whether our relocation is required or earnestly desired, we can humbly pray that all of the varied details be governed by God's law of harmonious action. Our true harmony is not dependent upon material circumstances being kept constant or being changed. Rather, our happiness depends on how we are demonstrating the spiritual fact of man's inseparability from God's constant care.

God, our loving Father-Mother, has a special niche for each of us. It is eternally established by Him, by omniscient Mind. It is when we give power to false gods that we find ourselves fearful. These false gods spring from the misconception that life is in matter. They're a product of what Christian Science terms mortal mind. The carnal, or mortal, mind would tell us that good is limited to a certain location, that man is inflexible, or that there are problems without solutions. A joyful move commonly requires that we grow in grace and broaden our concepts of where and how God's goodness can be manifested.
