Religion in the news media
This week the sentinel talks about religion in the news media with Peggy Wehmeyer of ABC television.
In March last year, President Bill Clinton spoke on ABC television's World News Tonight, and described himself as "... an honest, struggling believer, trying to grow every day, trying to learn more every day, never pretending to be anything other than I am. ... A person who ... is struggling to find the guidance of God in this job."
The President was responding to a question from the only full-time religion correspondent on network television in the United States, Peggy Wehmeyer (pronounced WAY-my-er), who has just completed her first year on the job—a year in which, she told the Sentinel, she has found her ABC colleagues and television viewers "kind, supportive, and open to religion."
