In talking about Christian Science I love to recall my very first healing, which I consider to be one of the most important ones I have had.
I was given Science and Health in the spring of 1990, and in the summer of that same year I went on my first voyage abroad—to England. By that time I had read the book, and whenever I had any free time I would meditate upon the ideas that I "fished" out of it.
It happened that I had to travel first by train and then by boat, and when I was on board the ship I became seasick. So I started to think about the things Mrs. Eddy wrote in Science and Health. I said to myself, "You cannot be sick, because you are an idea of God!" Then I thought, "OK, that is fine. I am an idea. But why can't an idea be sick?"
