Through the study of Christian Science I have had many healings
Through the study of Christian Science I have had many healings. I used to think of them as just being small healings. However, when recently researching the word small I found one dictionary defined it as meaning "without force." This made me realise that what I had dismissed as being just "small" healings had actually been examples of turning to God effortlessly in prayer.
One such experience occurred while I was taking Christian Science class instruction. I woke during the night with symptoms of a cold. I refused to accept these symptoms because they were not of God and so could not belong to me. Next morning there was no evidence of any of these symptoms.
In 1993 I had an aching knee that made walking and standing very painful. Although I had been reading the Bible Lesson every morning, the condition got no better. At the church service that Sunday I really listened for God's message. The subject of that Lesson was "Life." When the First Reader said the words of the Golden Text, from Psalms, "The Lord is the strength of my life" (27:1), I had a wonderful feeling of ever-present Love. I had no more fear about my knee condition. I was able to walk home from church that morning in a joyous state. And in a couple of days I was able to walk freely.
