A safer, more effective practice of medicine
Does a safer and more effective practice of medicine consist of only the wiser and more skillful use of technology, drugs, surgery, and other material methods? Many people think so. Yet, this ignores the significant contribution responsible spiritual healing is making to the health and well-being of mankind.
There has never been a safer or more dependable healing practice than that of Christ Jesus. Christian Scientists today are striving to practice this same Christian method. As a result, the most malignant and debilitating diseases are yielding to the power of Spirit.
Christ Jesus showed the way to this effective, and purely spiritual, practice of medicine when he said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). And he said his own mission was to "bear witness unto the truth" (John 18:37). The truth he bore witness to included a clear and unyielding understanding that man is truly God's child, reflecting and expressing all that is Godlike and nothing else.
