Youth can't limit you
"Let no man despise thy youth" was sound counsel given to Timothy in the Bible (see I Tim. 4:12). Have you ever felt that your youthfulness was being despised or that being young was limiting you? I have.
One day I went to an interview for a job that I really wanted and needed. I'll never forget the prospective employer saying to me, "You know, you have the educational background we are looking for, all the qualifications we need, and even enough experience. But, to tell you the truth, you are too young." I was not only disappointed but I felt robbed of a promising opportunity just because of my age. It was a sobering and solemn trip back to my apartment. I even found myself despising my youth.
But wait! Youth is spontaneous, flexible, energetic, joyful. These are worthwhile qualities that should never be despised. In fact, they are God-derived attributes.
