Colliding cultures? Or one universal family under God?
In many places in the world there continues to be war. Cultures colliding everywhere! We hear of efforts to destroy entire nationalities through "ethnic cleansing"—all of it justified in the name of nationalism, religious traditions, and bloodlines. Even in societies not torn by open warfare, young people and families are often swept up in violence.
What can we do about it? How can we establish harmony among cultures and in families and help stop the appalling suffering?
Prayer can help. And this brings us to God. Christian Science shows Him to be the creative Principle, infinite Spirit, the source and essence of our being—not a mechanistic force but the ever-present divine Mind, with whom we can talk as our dear friend and guide. God is the divine Father-Mother of every one of us! Because, as divine Mind, He is absolute intelligence, not destructive but constructive, we know Him as Love. He has not produced opposing elements programmed to combat and destroy each other.
