I Hope this testimony will encourage others to persist in the truth even where there seems no evidence of healing and the road seems very long. I know that every declaration of Truth, every yielding to Truth moment by moment, does eventually bring healing. Christian Science does heal.
In my late teens I became ill with colitis. I had exhausted all medical and psychiatric help and was physically fragile and mentally spent when a dear friend gave me a copy of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy.
Although my father was a doctor, he didn't trust medical theories. I had been taken to many doctors, hospitalized, and tested, but he could not accept the diagnosis that my problems were physical; he was convinced they were mental. He then sent me to a hypnotist (quite a courageous step at a time when alternative medicine had not its present recognition), but this person was unable to hypnotize me. Then I was sent to yet another psychiatrist, who started unravelling "my past."
