When I was eight years old I became very ill
When I was eight years old I became very ill. It was necessary for me to remain in bed because I was unable to walk and could not talk intelligibly.
My great aunt was a very devout Christian Scientist. She came from her home in a nearby city and brought with her a practitioner. This man prayed for me and talked with me. I never knew his name, but will always remember his kind face. The next morning I was completely healed—so free that I was able to go play out in the yard. My parents did not become interested in Christian Science at that time, but I made up my mind to turn to it if ever I was in need.
After I married, I discovered that my husband was an alcoholic. I went to talk with a practitioner, who was of great help to me, and began to read and study Science and Health.
