I Know no way to explain the harmony, confidence, and Spirit that run as constants through my life, other than to acknowledge the profound Science of divine Mind. It is Christian Science that has also given me the strength to combat every suggestion of discomfort and ill will.

During college I applied to study abroad for a semester in a developing country. My school administrators were doubtful of this plan, however, because of my request for exemption from the required inoculations and preventive medical care. I wished instead to rely on preventive spiritual care through Christian Science. I'd already had many healings since childhood, and I knew that prayer works.

With the aid of a Christian Science practitioner, I began much quiet prayer. I longed to know more of God, Life, omnipotent Principle. God is the one lawmaker and enforcer, whose plan for His creation is already in place. Understanding that all of God's children live in one Mind, and therefore my spiritual lawfulness couldn't be at odds with anything, I gained a calm sense of dominion. Soon the program director called me with a workable plan of action that smoothed out the legal complications and enabled me to travel free from medical requirements.
