Early one afternoon I received a call from our daughter's school, informing me there had been an accident on the playground. Our daughter had been climbing on a set of monkey bars when she slipped and fell, striking her leg on the lowest bar before hitting the ground. I was told she was injured and was having difficulty walking.
As Christian Scientists, we are accustomed to resolving problems, physical and otherwise, through prayer to God. The school officials had been aware of our family's history of reliance on Christian Science and had not called for medical aid.
I immediately went to the school. As I was driving, I acknowledged prayerfully the fact that God is the ever-present Parent of each of His children. I felt a need to understand that our daughter was created in God's image and likeness. I also prayed to understand more clearly that her heavenly Father was watching over her at all times, and that all her activities were governed by divine Principle; therefore she could never fall outside God's care.
