Simple truth—effective healing
Even the newest student of Christian Science, filled with childlike trust, can heal.
Haven't we all, at one time or another, looked at a problem and given up on it before we even started to try to solve it? It's so much easier to say, It's just too difficult; I'll never understand; I couldn't possibly do that!
Those of us who are new to Christian Science may feel intimidated when aware of others who have been raised in Science or who have studied it for years. When we face challenges we may be tempted to feel helpless, thinking that there's too much to learn or that healing is not available to us yet.
Take heart. Our ability to heal through prayer is not found in how much we know but rather comes as a result of the quality of our thought, the open and honest heart with which we receive and understand the simple truths that our prayer and study reveal. Christ Jesus, our dear Master, instructs us, "Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." This pure, innocent, childlike thought —which is so necessary in order to discern and experience the harmony of spiritual reality—is not dependent on years of study, but is inherent in our true nature as the children of God and is therefore always available to us.
