One very special proof to me of the healing power of prayer...

One very special proof to me of the healing power of prayer took place several years ago while I was attending a business conference in San Francisco. Several of us had planned on meeting for lunch. We tried to hail a taxi, but it was during the rush hour and we were unsuccessful. We decided to take a streetcar, and after getting off we had to hurry to make our reservations on time. I was wearing high heels with rubber soles, and while rushing to keep up with the others, I tripped and fell with great force. The rib-cage area was very painful. I did continue on to the restaurant a short distance away with the help of my husband and sister. They also supported me with their prayers.

Although I had fainted while in an elevator, I was able to return to the conference and then to drive the ninety-six miles to my home. I never had the injury diagnosed, but it seemed to be broken ribs; I could hardly move or breathe and spent a very uncomfortable night with little sleep. I prayed to realize that I could not experience anything evil, anything that God did not create.

The next morning I called a Christian Science practitioner. I went to work the next workday and was able to continue working as the practitioner and I prayed.
