Learning to trust God wholeheartedly leads to a growing...
Learning to trust God wholeheartedly leads to a growing understanding of His willingness and ability to care for us completely. I hope this testimony will encourage others to hold on and pray expectantly.
When faced with problems, I have often reflected on how my mother, a dedicated Christian Scientist, quietly prayed and listened for God's direction. She proved many times that God is the source of all good, all supply, all health, all life, and all love. A hymn from the Christian Science Hymnal says, "Day by day the manna fell ..." (No. 47). This has always reminded me to look to God in times of human need, never fearing for tomorrow. God's inexhaustible good will never diminish or be withheld.
There have been many occasions in which keeping my thought stayed on the truth of God has brought practical answers and healing. When my three children were in their late teens, we found ourselves in a terrible predicament; we were not only without housing but also without jobs and transportation. It seemed we had "hit bottom."
