"Yes, you will learn!"

Do you keep repeating the same mistakes? Don't be discouraged; there's a reliable way to make progress.

Have you ever repeated a mistake and then asked yourself, "Will I ever learn?" When I repeat a mistake I ask myself, "Marjorie, will you ever learn?" and then, recalling that God, my Father, is unchanging divine Love, I always hear the same encouraging and reassuring answer, "Yes, you will learn!"

Mrs. Eddy speaks of the need for earnest effort in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures when she writes: "Seeking is not sufficient. It is striving that enables us to enter" (p. 10). So I keep striving to do God's will, not own. And if my progress seems slow, at least with each victory over a bad habit or unpleasant character trait there's little progress.

But listen to this! I was in my kitchen, sitting on an electric scooter (designed to help me get around the house) with the motor on. I caught my sleeve on the control and the heavy machine raced forward, crashed into a cabinet, flipped upside down, and landed on top of me. I could neither extricate my-self nor reach the key to turn off the motor.
