Loving dogs
Dogs terrified Rori. They jumped on her. She would almost fall over, and they would keep jumping on her! They'd lick her face and get it wet. She didn't like that.
Whenever Rori saw a dog, she ran to Mommy and tried to climb up into her arms. When Rori got too big for Mommy's arms, Rori ran around and around Mommy's legs, trying to hide from the dog.
Mommy would calmly hug Rori (when she had slowed down enough to be hugged) and remind her that God was protecting her. They'd talk about what Rori was learning at home and in the Christian Science Sunday School—that God's love is with everything He made, including Rori and animals, too. Rori prayed and prayed to see that love when she was around dogs.
