Christian Science has blessed my family over many years. It helped me in the births of my five children. Over a long period of time, prayer helped keep them free of major health problems, and on those rare occasions when the children were ill, Christian Science treatment was effective. Now several of my grandchildren attend Christian Science Sunday School.
At the time we were expecting our first child, prospects for a suitable apartment seemed very dim. When I told a Christian Science practitioner that the only places that we could afford were dark and gloomy, she suggested I ponder part of a poem by Mary Baker Eddy:
