When my daughter was almost a year old, she developed a rash on her face. I prayed diligently with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, but still the rash remained.
Christmas was near, and I began reading the book What Christmas Means To Me by Mary Baker Eddy. I also came across the following passage from Miscellaneous Writings also by Mrs. Eddy: "In different ages the divine idea assumes different forms, according to humanity's needs. In this age it assumes, more intelligently than ever before, the form of Christian healing. This is the babe we are to cherish. This is the babe that twines its loving arms about the neck of omnipotence, and calls forth infinite care from His loving heart."
Immediately I saw that I was being overzealous with my daughter. We had longed to have her, and although my husband and I had seen her as God's beloved child, spiritual and perfect, I seemed to have later lost sight of that fact. But as that revelation returned over the next few days, the rash disappeared. There was great joy in our home.
