FROM THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

New appointments

We have several new appointments to announce, and we know you'll want to share in the good news with us. We would like to begin this announcement with the new editorial positions for the religious periodicals, which our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, established and so faithfully nurtured during her lifetime. We have elected William E. Moody, C.S.B., to serve as Editor of The Christian Science Journal, Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science. Bill is a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, and early in his service to this Church, he held the position of Committee on Publication for Louisiana for seven years.

This is a return to The Christian Science Publishing Society for Bill, who previously worked as an Associate Editor from 1981 to 1989. Bill moved from the Associate Editor's post to serve as Assistant Manager of Committees on Publication under Nathan A. Talbot, C.S.B., in December 1989, and for the immediate past year, Bill has been Clerk of The Mother Church. As a teacher of Christian Science, he will continue holding his classes and conducting his association in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the post of Editor, Bill will be taking the place of Allison W. Phinney, Jr., C.S.B., who had served in that capacity since 1983.

Following the resignation of Skip Phinney and three Associate Editors (Michael D. Rissler, C.S.B.; Ann Kenrick, C.S.B.; and Elaine Natale, C.S.B.), The Christian Science Board of Directors acted on the recommendation of the new Editor to appoint Nathan Talbot to the post of Senior Executive Editor. We have also accepted the Editor's recommendations for Associate Editors and have appointed Mary Metzner Trammell, C.S.B., of Boston, Massachusetts; and Russ Gerber, C.S.B., of San Luis Obispo, California.
