Every member of our family has been helped by Christian Science. Through our study and practice of this Science we have experienced healings of illness and injury; we have been protected from accidents and other adversities; and we have been guided in making family decisions by the inspiring influence of divine Mind, God.

When one of our sons was eleven years old, we went through a time that deepened our love for and trust in God and His healing power. Our son told me one day that he was feeling pain in both legs and feared he could not walk. Also, he was having difficulty breathing. That night his physical condition seemed to worsen. Because of our previous experiences of the practical effects of prayer, we called a Christian Science practitioner. She prayed faithfully with us, supporting our whole family.

Early in this experience we realized that it was important to decide on the healing method we would follow. Believing that our son was old enough to make his own decision on this point, we asked him whether he wished to have medical care or to rely entirely on God for healing. I will never forget his reply: he declared that he was a Christian Scientist and wanted only Christian Science treatment. And so we stayed with Christian Science.
