There have been numerous healings during my twenty-four years as a student of Christian Science, but the following stands out as having brought me many benefits and much spiritual progress. It took place gradually over a period of years, during the 1980s.

At that time my work as an itinerant teacher involved in the arts kept me constantly on the go. Working with the students and teachers was fulfilling and creative, and I received much appreciation for the progress achieved in the music programs.

However, there was no improvement over the years in the less-than-desirable facilities, schedules, and classroom conditions. I conferred with my superiors and followed prescribed grievance procedures. Yet after fifteen years of putting up with nearly impossible working conditions, I was told that there would be no change in environmental conditions; in fact, they continued to worsen.
