"One responsibility today is to place before the public, ideas and models that elevate thought and thereby help the entire human family. The response of The Mother Church has been to initiate activities that speak to mankind in terms that can be comprehended. ... The need is humanity's desire for spiritual nourishment, and our response must meet that need.

"The $37 million, requested in the per capita tax letter [in 1990], is still needed to replenish the funds used to construct the shortwave facilities. ... These are times of great unfoldment for our Church, and together we will witness the glory of the new dawning day."
