My desire is to share with you one of my many healings obtained through Christian Science. I want to share with mankind the hope and strength one receives in every situation, when one trusts in God's care.

I had an unpleasant experience during the birth of our first child. When I was expecting our second child, I decided to rely entirely on Christian Science. So from the start I sought the prayerful support of a practitioner of Christian Science. In my own study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I began to perceive that true conception is spiritual. I began to know man not as "flesh of my flesh" but as the idea of Spirit, God. I was emerging from the material concept of life to a new understanding of Life as Spirit. I was very grateful for the concept that Life, God, the all-powerful, is the author of man.

In Miscellaneous Writings Mrs. Eddy writes: "The new birth is not the work of a moment. It begins with moments, and goes on with years; moments of surrender to God, of childlike trust and joyful adoption of good; moments of self-abnegation, self-consecration, heaven-born hope, and spiritual love." During the gestation period I committed myself fully to this "new birth." I tried to really understand and live Christian Science. I grew spiritually and came to understand that every child of God is already formed in divine Mind as God's idea. Instead of feeling fear because of the earlier childbirth experience, I felt hope, joy, a continual awakening in Spirit, and the happiness of knowing that the true Father-Mother is always caring for His children.
