Gratitude for the good Christian Science has brought into my life for over seventy years impels me to write this testimony. Through the study and application of Science, health has been maintained, relationships have been harmonized, and progress has been made in overcoming limiting and undesirable character traits.

Christian Science was brought into our family about 1918 by an aunt and my mother. Many years later I witnessed my aunt's healing of peritonitis. She had yielded to her family's wish for a medical diagnosis, but then, because of healings she had experienced in Christian Science, including one of migraine headaches, she called on a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer. She soon improved, and within two months she was completely well.

My mother's trust in God, as she learned to know Him through her study of Christian Science, set a high standard of harmony and health in our family as we grew up. Early in her study of Science I became severely ill with influenza at the time of an epidemic. Mother and my aunt cared for me, and their gentle assurances of God's power and love comforted me. I was healed quickly and felt a desire to attend the Christian Science Sunday School after that.
