I learned of Christian Science as an adult
I learned of Christian Science as an adult. From the moment I opened Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I loved the teachings and began to apply them in my daily life.
About two years after I had begun the study of Science, I twisted my ankle one morning. By afternoon I was not able to use my left foot, and I hobbled through my apartment with the help of a broom.
Finally I sat down at my desk and decided not to get up until the difficulty was healed. I studied Christian Science for several hours. Then I thought of Paul and Silas, who prayed and sang praises to God when they were imprisoned (see Acts). I took my copy of the Christian Science Hymnal and sang all the hymns I knew well, thinking deeply about the words as I sang. When I came to the final hymn, I was so convinced of God's healing power and felt so enveloped in God's love that I was very inspired. At that point the pain left me completely and I could walk freely. The following Saturday I was able to go skiing.
