One of the things I love about Christian Science is the fact that the duration of a difficulty need not affect its "healability." Troubles of long standing can be healed because they have no standing with God.

I have had proof of this with the healings of several chronic difficulties. One of these was the healing of chest aches and pains with which I had struggled for several years. There were times when I would go to bed at night afraid I might not wake up in the morning. Yet I was comforted by the realization that I was forever embraced in the love of our Father-Mother God. I had prayerful help from a Christian Science practitioner for a time, and in my own prayers I diligently claimed that I was truly a perfect, spiritual child of God. Although I didn't seem to make much progress, I'm grateful to say that I was able during this entire time to partake in normal activities.
