At one time I wrenched my back while helping my husband...
At one time I wrenched my back while helping my husband lift a table to which was welded a heavy commercial vice. When the injury occurred, I dropped my end of the table and went into the house where I lay down on the couch to gather my thoughts. Soon my husband came in and said a few words of comfort.
This was quite a trial for me, for the pain was excruciating. Up till then, when had suffered pain, I had been able to overcome it quickly through acknowledging, in my prayer, that God never made pain. He makes everything wholly good. This wonderful realization had been with me all my life, for I was raised in Christian Science. Now I reasoned a great deal with the fact that man is God's spiritual image and likeness. Yet I felt there was more I needed to learn about this. In the meantime pain continued.
One evening I attended a Christian Science lecture at the branch church I belonged to. As I sat there in discomfort, I tried to listen intently while the lecturer spoke. I was hungering to learn more of divine Truth. At one point she stated that the image and likeness of God is everything God knows about Himself. Well, I had recently taken Christian Science class instruction, and during class we were asked to make a list of all the synonyms and attributes of God. I made a long list and am still adding to it. Some of the attributes I listed are health, strength, love, and purity.
