Our family has had many wonderful healings throughout the years. There have been healings of broken bones, reactions to insect bites, skin difficulties, plantar warts, and fever. In addition, the children have been free from most diseases commonly associated with childhood.
When our oldest boy was four years old, he woke one night with an earache. His Christian Science Sunday School class had been studying the story of David and Goliath. I told my son to think of himself as David and the earache as Goliath (see I Samuel, chap. 17). He did this, and recognizing that God's power is on our side, he was able to turn back to his pillow and go to sleep. He had had an immediate healing. Some years later, when he was a teen-ager, he complained of another earache. I reminded him of the time when he was four years old. He was soon free and has not had another earache.
Not long ago I had been giving particular attention and study to God's allness and goodness. About that time I found myself placed on the jury of a highly publicized murder trial involving a juvenile defendant. The trial testimony represented the carnal mind at its worst.
