An actor is an instrument
The Boston Globe
An actor is an instrument. I didn't operate on ego. I consider myself ... someone who enables the message of the playwright to shine through me. I want to be something good, part of a good piece of machinery.
To do this, you have to get beyond yourself and into the presence of God or goodness. So I say the prayer: "Not my will but thine be done."
