I was at a camp for Christian Scientists during the summer of 1988. A group of us went for a hike on one of the mountains near the camp. We had fun on the hike.
On the way down we followed a different path. There was a hornets' nest in the middle of the path. I noticed the hornets were flying in a swarm over the ground. I can't really remember what happened next, but I ran down the path, followed by four other girls. We were all wearing shorts and T-shirts, and the hornets were all over me. The whole time I was running down the path I knew that God was with me. Most of all, I thought that if God created everything, nothing could hurt me or anyone.
A few other girls and I had been stung in many places on our arms and legs. When we returned to camp I went to a cabin used for rest and study. I talked with the senior staff, and we read from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. We talked about God's loving care for all His children.
