Time to harvest—in the cities, too
"Why, this is what I've always believed!"
Someone said this to me not long ago when she first learned of Christian Science. It's not an uncommon response. The conviction that evil, sickness, injustice, shouldn't prevail is something we naturally feel, even as children, and Christian Science confirms this conviction. I thought about these things, too, when I came across a report later about a handful of women in a nation who are fighting bravely against great odds in order to bring equal justice to their country.
It's worth considering, then, why these strong feelings of healing, reformation, and justice survive, even when severe disappointment would crowd out confidence that we can overcome evil in the world and in ourselves.
