Christian Science has healed me of a number of physical troubles. But I am most grateful for the healing of many fears, which had seemed more difficult for me to bear than physical discomfort.

I was raised by two devoted, loving parents who were nevertheless very fearful for their children much of the time. I was especially blessed to have a mother who told me to turn to God when faced with any problem. This made it easier for me to accept Christian Science when it was presented to me.

Through prayer and much searching, I was healed of several torturing fears. The first was fear of speaking in public and giving testimonies at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings held at branch churches. I was actually petrified to stand and speak. At times fear affected me physically. Study and prayer in Christian Science brought me the realization that it was a limited and false sense of self, equivalent to selfishness, that was keeping me from testifying instead of glorifying God by telling of the good He has wrought. Today I have no fear of getting up and testifying, which occurs almost every Wednesday.
