The wonderful, healing words of the hymns in the Christian Science Hymnal...
The wonderful, healing words of the hymns in the Christian Science Hymnal are often just what we need to set us on the right course, ease a discordant situation, or uplift a heavy heart.
At a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in our branch church recently, the first hymn we sang was No. 115. A few words in the first verse—"When we wandered, Thou hast found us"—brought to mind the deep gratitude I have always had that my grandmother was led to Christian Science when she was a young woman and embraced its teaching.
I lived with my grandmother much of the time until I entered high school, at which time I went to live with my mother and two sisters. All along, whenever a Christian Science Sunday School was available, I eagerly looked forward to attending and had very loving teachers. I know now that the seed of Truth was planted during this time.
