Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy tells us, "When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path." I would like to share a healing that I experienced, which illustrates this statement.

For many weeks I had been afflicted with sudden attacks of extreme dizziness. The attacks occurred at unexpected times and progressively became more frequent. One morning after one of these attacks I sat quietly and turned to God, asking Him to show me what I needed to learn. As I prayed, it became very clear to me that I had been striving for weeks to see what I must deal with instead of striving to understand God's control of His universe, which includes me, His child. So, with this as my goal, I commenced to study the Bible Lesson (outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly).

Quite a bit later I looked up from my books. As I gazed out the window, the thought came to me to look up the word pendulum in the textbook. There are four references to pendulum in Science and Health. One states, "Faith, if it be mere belief, is as a pendulum swinging between nothing and something, having no fixity."
