In her work Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures Mary Baker Eddy writes, "'All things work together for good to them that love God,' is the dictum of Scripture." I can readily attest to this fact, which became progressively apparent to me once I began the study of Christian Science about ten years ago. Before that time I felt continually fatigued, irritable, depressed, and was plagued by frequent headaches. In addition, I sometimes entertained self-destructive thoughts, lacked motivation, and had very little interest in life.

After several years of searching for something meaningful, which I instinctively felt existed, one day I went to a Christian Science Reading Room in my neighborhood. I borrowed a copy of Science and Health from the lending library and began reading it that evening.

The following events occurred in rapid sequence after I began reading Science and Health: I attended a Christian Science lecture the following weekend; about three weeks later I began daily study of the Bible Lesson (outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly); branch church membership took place in six months; four months later I accepted a position as church secretary. During this period, through my study of Christian Science, I was healed of the fatigue, irritability, and depression, from which I had long suffered.
