Good night!
Sometimes, when you lie in bed at night, do you imagine hearing monsters when cars drive past your house? Or do you get too excited to sleep if tomorrow you're going on a trip to the zoo? Maybe you stay awake because you're a little bit afraid of that boy, Jerry, who pushed you down on the playground. But when you go downstairs to tell Mom you can't go to sleep, she says, "Now dear, no more excuses. You get right back to bed this minute and don't get out again."
But how can you go to sleep? Well, here's an idea. You know how nice it is to pick out one special furry stuffed animal friend or your best doll to take to bed with you? It helps you feel cozy. What about picking out one treasured thought from God to take with you.
Maybe there's one you learned in Sunday School last week, like "God is love" I John 4:8. from the Bible, or Mrs. Eddy's words "Love is reflected in love," Science and Health, p. 17. or the idea from a hymn "Everlasting arms of Love / Are beneath, around, above." Christian Science Hymnal, No. 53. ... Of course you know lots more good thoughts. What is your favorite?
