Learning dominion over time
The ticking of the clock may seem relentless and determinative. A closer look at eternity shows that, in fact, it is neither.
There's good news for all who find time a troublesome and even tragic dimension of life. We can learn by degrees to live in an altogether different dimension—God's eternity.
"How can that be?" one might ask. "Surely time is something we're stuck with. Doesn't eternity belong to an afterlife beyond this world?"
The Bible throws light on this important question. St. Paul tells us, "In him [God] we live, and move, and have our being." Acts 17:28. And in Isaiah, God is referred to as "the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity." Isa. 57:15.
