A few years ago a small growth on my hairline became very ugly. At first I was quite fearful, but the following citation from the Bible roused me from fear (Ps. 56:4): "In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me."
Later, while praying, I remembered hearing a conversation as a little girl about a similar growth my grandmother had. I recalled hearing the fear in the voices of those talking, and I was alerted to the fact that fear now was entering my own thought.
I realized that both my grandmother and I shared the perfect heritage of the children of God. Refusing to be intimidated by appearances, I clung to my perfection as a child of God. In a short time the growth was gone.
Church activity and Christian Science class instruction have enhanced my progress in Christian Science, for which I am very grateful.
