No contest

At Peniel
(reluctantly) hand to hand with mortal me
with i want/i won't/i can't/
loath to let go what I see as
part of my personality,

I suddenly
in forced humility am still
before His allness, wisdom, potency,
and see
how graciously the great I am
has fitted His highest idea, man,
to do His will. Inevitably
this glimpse of true identity (now grasped)
looses clasp of ego's claim to entity.
Battle's done—finis!
Of course I can, and do—and happily!
